Getting Started with Pinch Plus

Setup

  • Compatibility Check: Ensure you're using Chrome version 116 (August 2023) or newer.

Installation

  • Download Pinch Plus from the Chrome Web Store.
  • Integration: Once installed, a Pinch icon will appear in the top right navigation menu inside Xero and QuickBooks, symbolising that your accounting platform and Pinch Payments are now connected.

How to Use

Navigate to Xero or QuickBooks in your Chrome browser.
Click the Pinch icon in the navigation menu to unveil the Pinch Plus side panel.
Explore the wealth of information and functionalities at your fingertips, enhancing your accounting operations with ease.

When viewing a Contact

  • Quickly check Pre-Approval and Customer Portal statuses.
  • Launch the Pre-Approval Page to manage Payment information effortlessly.
  • Copy and send links for the Pre-Approval page or Customer Portal directly from the extension.

When viewing an Invoice:

  • Get immediate updates on payment status (scheduled, paid, or failed).
  • Directly access the Payment page to manage transactions on behalf of your customer.
  • Verify the Customer's Pre-Approval status in a glance, ensuring you're always informed about automatic payments.

 

Fixing Common Issues with the Pinch Plus Chrome Extension

The Pinch Icon Doesn't Appear in Xero or QuickBooks

  • Check Chrome Version: Ensure your Chrome browser is updated to version 116 or later. Visit chrome://settings/help to check your version and update if necessary.
  • Extension Installation: Verify that the Pinch Plus extension is installed and enabled. You can check this by going to chrome://extensions/ in your Chrome browser.
  • Extension Permissions: Confirm that Pinch Plus has the necessary permissions to operate with Xero and QuickBooks. Adjust the permissions in the extension settings if required.

The Extension Panel Does Not Display Information

  • Refresh the Page: Sometimes, a simple page refresh can resolve display issues. Try refreshing Xero or QuickBooks to see if the information appears.
  • Re-login: Log out of both your accounting software and the Pinch Plus extension, then log back in. This can help reset any session-related issues.
  • Clear Cache: Clearing your browser's cache and cookies can resolve many display problems. Go to chrome://settings/clearBrowserData to perform this action.
