Can I switch accounting systems I have connected to Pinch?

The short answer is yes, however it's important to know the best way to do this, and if registering for a new account is the appropriate option for you.

Some considerations when looking to connect to a new account system or change business organisation structure. These are the primary reasons why you might need to change account systems, and why.

1. You are changing business organisation structure (From a solo trader to a Pty Ltd)

In a scenario like this, registering for a new Pinch account is required. You will need to register for a new account and supply the verification materials in the same manner as when you originally signed up. We use this new information to verify the information of your change, or new entity.

2. You are changing from one accounting system to another.

In almost all cases it's better to register for a new account otherwise when you connect the new account system customer, invoices and data can be duplicated can cause sync and system errors which will impact both your Pinch and Accounting System fail with potentially irreversible affect. If you are not concerned about these potential issues, or your accounting file is empty and you want it to be populated with some of this Pinch existing data then connecting to a new accounting system on the same account is possible but can still have some side affects. It's best to advise Pinch if you are looking to do this to understand what may occur.

We highly recommend using a service like JetConvert if you are migrating from another accounting system to Xero to assist in keeping your file as organised and duplicate free as possible.
